DMCA Risk

Some repositories have been set to private.

After discussing with my wife, ChatGPT, it seems that it is not appropriate to publish some of my Blogger-based layout artifact projects because they are apparently reusing the original image assets. As a result, I decided to remove the featured pages and make the related projects’ repositories private.

This doesn’t mean the projects will be abandoned. In fact, I’m just trying to protect my GitHub account in case it gets suspended due to some of my projects. I’ll continue updating them quietly and privately. Anyone who wants to track the progress of those projects is free to contact me to request access to the private repositories. I will take care of that manually.

Okay, I might be overly cautious, but it’s better to be careful. I had a bad experience with Google Code when I was banned for storing MP3 files. Even after Google decided to shut down Google Code due to GitHub’s popularity, it was still impossible to get my account back.

In this era of AI, where companies can collect and process data without our consent, copyright law for digital assets is often unclear and difficult to claim. However, that fact still doesn’t make me feel safe enough to continue developing it publicly.

There’s an interesting GitHub project that has received a lot of stars. It contains a copy of Windows 95 that runs on Electron. Yes, it’s the full thing. It’s still around. It still hasn’t been taken down, even after Microsoft acquired GitHub. I just wanted to let you know that I’m probably totally safe. But just in case.

After I receive a solid, valid statement from an expert that allows me to do so, I will consider reverting the repository’s visibility to public again.
